Our Philosophy

THE MINISTRY’S STATEMENT OF FAITH
This statement of Faith is consistent with the teaching of faith Temple Ministry (Apostolic).

1 ONE TRUE GOD -We believe that God is the one and only true God (Isaiah 43:11, Luke 3:33) who has revealed himself as the eternally self existent I AM, he is the creator of all things, and he is the redeemer of mankind, who is infinitely perfect and manifests as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

2 THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST – We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternally existent son of God and shares the deity of God. Jesus Christ is also fully man, miraculously conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He became a sacrifice for sin and died on the cross, he arose from the dead, ascended into heaven where he is now seated at the right hand of God the father as our high priest and advocate (Matthew 1:23)

3 THE ORIGINAL SIN AND THE FALL OF MAN – (Genesis 1-3) God created man in his image and likeness, through disobedience, man sinned and fell from the grace of God the creator. The fall of man caused sin to enter into the world bringing death by sin. This death was not only physical death, but spiritual death also.

4 THE SCRIPTURES – We believe that the Holy scriptures, both the New Testament and the Old Testament originated with God. They are the revelation from God to man, the inspired word of God, they are the infallible, final authority for all Christian faith and practice (2nd Timothy 3: 15-17).

5 SALVATION THROUGH FAITH – Man has a sinful nature which causes him to sin. Man needs deliverance from sin and its consequences. Man can only receive salvation from God through Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:21, Luke 2:11; 19:10). This salvation from the power of sin is only possible through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and his resurrection. By exercising faith in the person and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, man can obtain this salvation and spiritual life which is a free gift of grace from God (Ephesians 2:8-9).

6 BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT – The baptism with, in, or by the Holy Spirit was an event that Jesus had promised (Acts 1:4-5). This experience is to glorify Jesus Christ and to indwell, guide and empower believers for life and service. This baptism brings to the forefront of the ministry to the body of Christ, the gifts or enablement of the Holy Spirit. This experience is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with tongues as the Spirit gives utterance; it is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth.

7 DIVINE HEALING – Divine healing is an Integral part of the Gospel of Christ (Acts 10:38, Galatians 3:13). The finish work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross not only included forgiveness of sins but the redemption provided salvation for the whole man; his spirit, soul and body.

8 THE BODY OF CHRIST (THE CHURCH) - Jesus Christ is both Lord and head of his church (Ephesians 1:22-23). The church of Christ is made up of born-again believers, born of the Holy Spirit and united as the body of Christ and appointed to fulfil the great commission.

9 THE SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH
a. The Lord’s Supper – Also known as Holy Communion is where Christians share together in a token or symbolic ‘meal’ of bread and wine. It is kept on the Lord’s authority and in his honour (1 Corinthians 11:20). It is the covenant meal that seals his commitment to us and our commitment to him (Luke 22:19-20). Christians keep the Lord’s Supper not only in remembrance of Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection, but also in anticipation of his second coming.
b. Water Baptism – Baptism in water is a ceremony which all who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour are commanded to be immersed in water, to make a public confession that they have repented of their sins and committed themselves to him. Baptism is an expression of union with Christ in dying to sin and being raised with Christ in newness of life (Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48).
